Group Transfers to Rüdesheim and the Middle Rhine
Rüdesheim is about 45 minutes from Frankfurt Airport, close enough for an incentive afternoon or a first evening after a Messe day. The planning question is the river: on this stretch there is no bridge.
From FRA and the Rhine-Main hotels
Frankfurt Airport is about 52 km away by the A3 to the Wiesbadener Kreuz, then the A66 and B42, about 45 minutes in light traffic. Central Frankfurt is about 64 km; Wiesbaden and Mainz are each about 35 minutes, and larger groups often stay there and come in for the day.
There is no Umweltzone in Rüdesheim, and the Mainz zone ended in October 2025, yet Wiesbaden still enforces one with the green sticker. A coach collecting from a Wiesbaden hotel must meet that rule, and the quote says so.

One bank only
From Wiesbaden down to Koblenz the Rhine runs some 90 km without a single bridge or tunnel. Bingen, Bacharach and St. Goar face Rüdesheim and the Loreley from the left bank. A pair of car ferries makes the six-minute hop to Bingen, but whether one takes the coach is checked before it goes into the plan. Going round by the Mainz–Wiesbaden bridges, Bingen is roughly 55 km away.
A Rhine cruise from the Rüdesheim landing stages past the Loreley shows the valley without a crossing. Agree with the operator where the coach collects the group afterwards.

- Wiesbaden or Mainz for larger groups
- Rüdesheim old town by the Rhine
- Rheingau villages (Geisenheim, Eltville)
Coach parks, cable car and monument
Three town car parks take coaches: P6 "Auf der Lach", P4 "Rheinhalle" on the Bleichstraße and P2 "An der Ringmauer / Seilbahn", which sits by the cable car up to the Niederwalddenkmal. Coaches can also park up at the monument, so the group rides up and is collected at the top. In Assmannshausen, coaches use Unter den Linden, the Platz von Juliénas by the station or the Höllenbergstraße.
The tourist office's group service can put together a group's guided tour, tasting, cable-car ride and boat trip, which helps fix the times before the transfer is booked.
Rheingau and further afield
The Loreley plateau is some 35 minutes off, Kloster Eberbach in the vineyards above Eltville about 20. Koblenz is about 1 h 10 min, and Cochem and the Moselle roughly 1 h 50 min, routed through Koblenz, a full day once a stop is added.
Planner questions
Will a ferry take the coach across to Bingen?
That is checked case by case, never assumed. The ferries run, but if the coach cannot board, the road round via Mainz and Wiesbaden takes about 50 minutes.
How far is Rüdesheim from Frankfurt Airport?
Some 52 km by road: about 45 minutes off-peak, more in rush hour.
Where does the group rejoin the coach after the cable car?
Either at P2 by the lower station or at the car park beside the monument, which also takes coaches.
