Squads, kit and kick-off times

A team travels with more bags than people, on a timetable set by the fixture list. Airport, hotel, training pitch, stadium and back is the usual chain, and each link has its own stopping rules.

Seats, kit and licence class

A squad of 22 players and staff with kit bags and medical cases usually outgrows a 16-seat minibus, whose rear space shrinks once every seat is filled. A midi-coach or coach puts the kit in underfloor holds. With more than eight passengers the vehicle is a bus in law: up to 16 passengers and 8 m long the driver needs class D1, beyond that class D.

Stadium parking is booked, not found

Grounds handle team and supporter coaches differently. Frankfurt's Deutsche Bank Park sends coaches to the Gleisdreieck area and the coach ticket must be pre-booked through the stadium. RheinEnergieSTADION in Köln has coach park P8 on Salzburger Weg, bookable on match days. Hamburg's Volksparkstadion has its coach park on Schnackenburgallee. For the Allianz Arena, the city's Fröttmaning coach terminal is close by; the team set-down point is confirmed by the operator.

Tournament weeks and race weekends

On one occasional trip, the weekly rest can be pushed back by up to 12 days, and since 2024 that also covers trips inside Germany, so a single driver can follow a tournament week. Buses pay no HGV toll on motorways.

The GENERALI BERLIN-MARATHON is on Sunday 26 September 2027, starting and finishing on Straße des 17. Juni. Roads around the course close, so hotel-to-start runs need a drop point outside the closed area, agreed once the year's plan is published.

Planner questions

Can the vehicle stay with the team all day?

Yes, with waiting time booked. The driver's breaks and daily limit still apply, so a long match day with a late return may need two drivers.

Do players have to wear seat belts?

Yes, every passenger, wherever belts are fitted.

Can supporters travel in a separate coach?

Yes. Book it as its own movement; supporter coaches often use a different parking area from the team bus.
