Airport Group Transfers: Coach Points and Pick-up Rules

Where a coach may wait, whether it must register and how far the hotel is: the twelve airport pages set out what decides the timing of a group pick-up.

Three things to check before booking

First, the coach point. Frankfurt, BER, Düsseldorf, Köln/Bonn, Hamburg and Stuttgart publish one; Nuremberg, Leipzig/Halle, Dresden and Bremen do not, so the stopping place is agreed with the operator. Second, registration: Düsseldorf on the day, Köln/Bonn 24 hours ahead, Stuttgart at least 3 hours ahead. Third, distance: Munich airport is about 39 km from Marienplatz, Bremen about 4 km from the Marktplatz.

For onward rail, only Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Köln/Bonn have ICE stops at the airport.

Planner questions

Where will the group meet the driver?

No German airport publishes a group meeting point. The meeting point and the vehicle's stopping place are set when the job is booked and stated on the confirmation.

Why do you need flight numbers?

Some airports call coaches in by flight, and delays move the call time. A landing time alone is not enough.

Can a car with driver wait at the kerb?

Kerb time is short and differs by airport. A car with driver is pre-booked and goes where the operator and the airport's rules allow.
