Dresden Airport group transfers: one terminal, ten kilometres, clear hand-offs
Dresden Airport is a single terminal about 10 km from the Neumarkt, with the S-Bahn station underneath. Groups move quickly here; the detail to settle is where the vehicle stands.
Pick-up without a published coach point
No coach pick-up point or coach park is named by the airport. Directly in front of the terminal runs the Hol- und Bringespur (pick-up and drop-off lane), and opposite it, about 150 m away, is the short-stay car park PK1, where 2 hours is a strict maximum. The operator decides which of the two the vehicle uses, and the joining notes tell the group where to walk.
An annual parking permit from the airport's parking management is available to transfer services. Anyone who misses the group can ask at the information desk in arrivals, which books taxis and chauffeur services.

Timing the vehicle
With one terminal and a short walk to the forecourt, the gap between baggage reclaim and boarding is small. The 2-hour PK1 cap is the hard edge: on a day with several arrivals spread out, plan separate runs rather than one vehicle sitting out a long gap, and send the landing time of each flight so the runs can be spaced. The car park building takes vehicles up to 2.00 m high only.
Drive time to the city
- about 10 km by road to the Neumarkt (Frauenkirche), in the centre of Dresden, about 20 min in light traffic; longer at peak times
Terminals and arrival levels
- Single terminal, with the railway station on the lower level and check-in on level 1
City, Messe and the Elbe valley
The Neumarkt and the Frauenkirche are about 10 km away, roughly 20 minutes in light traffic, and no Umweltzone applies anywhere in Dresden. Messe Dresden in the Ostragehege, close to the Altstadt, has coach set-down and pick-up zones agreed with the organiser in advance, and coaches park at the Pieschener Allee coach park a few hundred metres away.
Meissen is about 26 km (about 30 minutes) and the Bastei in Saxon Switzerland about 56 km (about 55 minutes), both realistic on an arrival day.
S-Bahn, not long-distance
Every 30 minutes the S2 leaves the station below the terminal, taking about 21 minutes to the Hauptbahnhof and about 14 to Dresden-Neustadt. Long-distance trains do not serve the airport, so rail arrivals join the group at the Hauptbahnhof or in Neustadt. Check the current rail service before planning around it.
