Warnemünde Cruise Calls: Access, Timing and Berlin
At Warnemünde the ground transport is settled before the ship docks. Excursion and shuttle providers must register with the port operator in advance, and no vehicle may park at the terminal while ships are alongside.
Registered access, no parking
Shore-excursion agencies, travel companies and shuttle services reach the terminal only once registered with the port operator. For a booked job the partner operator handles the registration, which is why a Warnemünde request should carry the ship, the call date and the berth as early as you have them. Berths P1 to P4, P7 and P8 are on the Warnemünde Passagierkai; LP31 and LP41 are in the Rostock Überseehafen, a separate location.
Since parking is not allowed during calls, the coach loads, leaves, and comes back for the agreed collection. The terminal buildings at P7 and P8 are step-free and have facilities for disabled passengers, worth knowing when a guest uses a wheelchair.

The Berlin excursion, worked backwards
The Brandenburger Tor is about 243 km by road, around 2 h 30 min by car in light traffic and longer by coach. Out and back, that is five hours or more on the road before any sightseeing, inside an EU limit of 9 hours' driving a day with a 45-minute break after 4.5 hours. So the day is planned from the all-aboard time backwards: a fixed departure from Berlin, the driver's break placed in advance, and a margin for traffic on the way north.
Rail is the alternative for smaller parties. The station sits roughly 500 m, five minutes' walk, from the ship; the S-Bahn runs to Rostock Hauptbahnhof at 7.5-minute peak and 15-minute off-peak intervals, and Berlin trains leave from there. A coach keeps a large group on one timetable.
Airports for fly-cruise connections
- Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) — about 2 h 50 min in light traffic
- Hamburg Airport (HAM) — about 2 h 10 min in light traffic
Terminals and berths

Shorter runs and airports
Central Rostock (Neuer Markt) is about 15 km away, Schwerin about 98 km and Lübeck about 133 km. For turnarounds, Rostock-Laage is the nearest airport at about 46 km; Hamburg Airport is about 195 km and BER about 264 km, so flights are chosen with the road leg in mind.
Planner questions
Who registers the vehicle with the port?
The partner operator running the job, ahead of the call. Send the ship and date as soon as they are known.
Can the coach wait at the terminal during the day?
No. Parking is not allowed during ship calls; the coach returns at the agreed collection time.
Does a Berlin excursion need two drivers?
It depends on the all-aboard time and the hours in Berlin. The quote states the driving plan behind it.
