Bremerhaven Columbuskaje: Group Embarkation and Arrival
Bremerhaven is Bremen's cruise port, about an hour from Bremen Airport by road and around two from Hamburg. The quay can take four ships at once, so on busy days the slot at the terminal matters as much as the drive.
Coach space on a shared quay
The Columbuskaje is about 1 km long, with check-in and waiting areas for about 4,000 passengers and boarding bridges. The terminal operator lists space for 20 buses, a taxi rank and a shuttle. With several ships in, those spaces are shared, so a group coach works to a collection time tied to its disembarkation group, and the operator confirms the stand with the terminal.
Passenger car park P1 is directly at the terminal; P3, about 500 m away, opens only on ship arrival days.

Choosing the airport
Bremen Airport is about 72 km away, roughly an hour in light traffic. Hamburg Airport is about 193 km, around 2 h 15 min, and Hamburg's Rathausmarkt about 184 km. On disembarkation day, set the earliest bookable flight from road time plus loading, a traffic margin and check-in; Hamburg flights need a noticeably later slot than Bremen ones.
Pre-cruise hotels in Bremen are about 68 km away (Marktplatz, about 55 minutes). Bremen keeps an active Umweltzone, the Altstadt included, so a coach collecting from a hotel inside it needs the green sticker; the operator checks the current rule.

Train plus local bus, or one vehicle
By rail, Bremen to Bremerhaven is a direct run of 35 to 45 minutes, by the terminal operator's figures. When a ship is in, a local bus marked "Kreuzfahrt-Terminal" departs from right outside the Bremerhaven station and calls at the Havenwelten on its way to the quay, some 4.3 km from the centre. That suits individuals with light bags; a group with cases avoids the change by taking one vehicle from the hotel or station.
Planner questions
How many coaches can stand at the terminal?
The terminal operator lists space for 20 buses. When several ships are in, your group's stand and time are agreed in advance.
Bremen or Hamburg Airport after the cruise?
Bremen is much closer. Hamburg works for later flights; the quote shows the timing for either.
Can we walk from the station?
It takes about 30 minutes along the Kommodore-Ziegenbein-Promenade, fine without luggage but not with it.
